•the structures and structural inhomogeneities of layered silicates,
•the behavior of clay minerals in soils and organomineral interactions,
•the modern and ancient weathering crusts,
•bentonite, kaolin and palygorskite clay deposits,
•the clay minerals as indicators of facial settings and conditions of diagenesis and epithermal transformations,
•geochronological, paleogeographical and paleontological aspects,
•assessment of the effect of the composition of clays mineralogy on the filtration and capacitance properties of rocks within the framework of oil and gas geology,
•physico-chemical and physicomechanical properties of clays and clay barriers used for isolation of nuclear heritage sites and radioactive waste (RW) storage,
•the microstructure and colloidal properties of clays and clay soils in the natural state and in a compacted form,
•he features of diffusion and migration technogenic components through clay rocks and compacted bentonites,
•the sorption of radionuclides (Cs, Sr, U, Am, Np),
•argillotherapy in a complex of restorative treatment,
•the swelling of bound water in clays,
•theoretical and experimental study of the relationship of rheological and electrochemical clay properties and polymer-clay dispersions in the presence of electrolytes,
•the organoclays, modification of clay particles as additives for plastic lubricants, as stabilizers of inverse emulsions
