The Fifth School was organized by the Russian Group on Clay Minerals, which is a collective member of the International Association for the Study of Clays and Clay Minerals (AIPEA), the Commission on Clay Minerals of the Russian Mineralogical Society
Traditionally, the main task of organizing and conducting a School on clay Minerals is the need to improve existing and acquire new knowledge and practical skills in the field of methodology for studying clay minerals, which can be used in solving various problems of geology, industry, chemistry, ecology and technologies where clays and clay minerals are used.
The program of the Third Russian School on Clay Minerals "ArgillaStudium-2014" was divided into two blocks: lectures by leading Russian scientists in the field of clay minerals, lasting from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, and Round tables, which included lectures on basic issues of classification, identification of clay minerals and quantitative mineral analysis.
