We are sharing news — the article "Transformation of bentonite clays in engineered safety barriers under model conditions" has been published, presenting the results of a study on the transformation of bentonites under model conditions of a deep geological radioactive waste repository.

The article examines the transformation changes in the smectite structure during contact interactions with engineered safety barrier materials (steel and concrete). The results can be used to justify the long-term safety of geological radioactive waste disposal at the "Yeniseisky" site, Krasnoyarsk Krai.
