Accreditation of SC "Engineering Barriers"

Dear colleagues!

We are pleased to announce important news: on May 29, 2026, our Laboratory — Scientific Center "Engineering Barriers" (as part of IGEM RAS) successfully completed the accreditation procedure and received certificate No. RU.ILC.1.B.1.1547.25.

Accreditation is a significant step in the development of our Center and a guarantee of the quality of the services provided. The obtained document confirms the high professional level and technical competence in testing a wide range of materials in strict accordance with the requirements of Russian standards and GOST.

The scope of accreditation of the NC "Engineering Barriers" includes comprehensive testing of the following objects:

  • Clays and clay materials
  • Soils (all types)
  • Gravel, sand, kaolin
  • Bentonite clays
  • Drilling fluids
  • Geosynthetic bentonite materials
  • Rock soils (bedrock)
  • Construction materials
  • Rocks, ores
  • Mineral raw materials (including for chemical productions)
  • Cements
  • Refractory products
  • Peat
  • Bauxites
  • Minerals (all types)
  • Graphite (artificial, colloidal, semi-colloidal)
  • Products based on graphite and carbon

Determined characteristics (indicators):

  • Sampling, manufacturing, preparation, classification, labeling, transportation, and storage of samples
  • Granulometric and microaggregate composition
  • Moisture content
  • Density (skeleton, particles, soil)
  • Maximum density of dry soil and optimum moisture content (standard Proctor compaction method)
  • Upper and lower plasticity limits, plasticity index
  • Penetration resistance
  • Strength and deformability characteristics (triaxial compression, uniaxial compression, shear, compression)
  • Consolidation parameters
  • Filtration coefficient
  • Swelling pressure and swelling-shrinkage characteristics
  • Collapsibility characteristics (relative collapsibility, initial collapse pressure, moisture content)
  • Cation exchange capacity (Cu-TRIEN method)
  • Exchangeable cation composition (K, Na, Mg, Ca)
  • Viscosity
  • Fluid loss
  • Swell index
  • Ultimate tensile/compressive strength
  • Quantitative mineral composition (Rietveld method) using a certified measurement procedure
